These terms cover your use of sofapicks.co.uk and any league you create or join. They are written to be read, so please do. If anything is unclear, just email us.

Who we are

Sofa Picks is run by Matt Jenkins, trading as Sofa Picks, 1 Breer Street, London SW6 3HE, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@sofapicks.co.uk.

What Sofa Picks is

Sofa Picks is an unofficial fan game for playing along at home with UK reality TV. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to ITV, the BBC or any broadcaster or production company. Show names are used only to describe what the game is about.

Sofa Picks is played for bragging rights. We do not run prizes, betting or gambling of any kind, and leagues must not be used for them.

Creating and joining leagues

Anyone can join a league from a link shared by its organiser. The organiser must be 18 or over. Younger players are welcome to join a family league with a parent or guardian's permission.

Keep your league link and manage link private. Anyone with the league link can join and play, and anyone with the manage link can change the league.

What you pay for

A league costs £2.99, paid once by the organiser. That price covers one league for one series of the show you chose, for everyone you invite. Players never pay. The price shown at checkout is the total you pay.

Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Your league is switched on as soon as your payment is confirmed, and we email you a receipt.

Refunds and cancellation

Your league is digital content that starts straight away, so the usual 14 day right to cancel ends once the league is switched on. We still want you to be happy, so:

• If you change your mind, email us within 14 days of paying and before the first episode of the series airs, and we will refund you in full.
• If the series is cancelled or does not air, we will refund you in full.
• If something on our side stops your league working properly and we cannot fix it, we will refund you.

This does not affect your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your rights if digital content is faulty. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 working days.

Fair use

Please keep league names, player names and anything else you type friendly and lawful. Do not use names that are offensive, impersonate someone or include other people's private details. Do not try to break, overload or misuse the site, or get around its spam protection.

We may remove content or close a league that breaks these rules. If we close a paid league for any other reason, we will refund you.

Results and the site

We enter results after each episode as quickly and accurately as we can, and we correct mistakes when we spot them or you tell us. Occasionally the site may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid for the league. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses, as Sofa Picks is for personal use.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and the law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your league is the one shown when you paid. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
