Who will be King or Queen of the Jungle in 2026? What recent winners had in common, and which rumoured campmates fit the mould.

It's early. ITV hasn't confirmed the cast, and any names are officially "just speculation" (Yahoo News). But the jungle has a habit of rewarding the same kind of person, so it's worth looking at who has won recently before we make an early call.

What the winners have in common
They're warm and they're game. Sam Thompson and Danny Jones won hearts by throwing themselves into everything. Viewers reward people who seem to be having the time of their lives.
Younger voters matter more than ever. Angry Ginge became the first social media star to win (Mirror), taking 65% of the vote in the final two (BBC News). A big online following now counts for a lot on the phone lines and in the app.
Sport stars do well. Jill Scott won in 2022, the same year she lifted the Euros with England (Capital FM). Down to earth athletes tend to go a long way.
Controversy rarely wins. The divisive campmates make headlines, but the crown usually goes to the one everybody's Gran likes.
Our early shortlist
Based on the rumoured line up, these are the names that fit the mould best if they go in.
- Joanna Page. Much loved, very funny, and fresh from a well received run on Taskmaster (Yahoo News). Our early pick.
- Ade Adepitan. A Paralympic medallist and natural presenter. Making history as the first wheelchair user in camp (Capital FM) could make him a big public favourite.
- Chloe Burrows. A Love Island fanbase and a daily radio audience on KISS give her exactly the kind of younger vote that carried Angry Ginge.
- Christopher Dean. National treasure territory. Older campmates often do well with the public if they embrace the trials.
